Chick + Ruth’s Delly Meets Man vs. Food

Chick + Ruth’s Delly is a small restaurant located on Main Street in Annapolis. It is well known by all around for its pleasant atmosphere and eclectic guests, such as tourists, politicians, and the casual Annapolitan stopping in for a bite to eat. It is known for it’s many sandwiches named after state politicians and all the choices of menu items that span up into the hundreds. The inside of the small, two-story eatery is painted a cheerful yellow, however the walls are almost completely covered by framed and autographed pictures from astronauts to celebrities to athletes to Navy football players. And although the restaurant has seen much popularity over the years, with frequent visitors and new customers, it received a new level of popularity when the Man Vs. Food host, Adam Richman came to attempt the “Colossal Challenge,” only defeated when a 1 ½ lb. burger or sandwich along with a 6 lb. milkshake has been consumed.
Delly owner Ted Levitt speaks about the challenge saying, “I know it's one of the hardest challenges he's had. There's no way I could do that.” The “Colossal Challenge” must also be completed in an hour. Winners receive a t-shirt that reads, “I survived the Colossal Challenge.”
However some Annapolis residents are wondering why their quaint little restaurant was chosen to be on the Travel Channel. A spokesperson answered this question, reasoning that the shakes and sandwiches are "both delicious and tremendous in size." So when Mr. Richman showed up to the restaurant, people packed in, pressed against walls, more so than usual, all to crane over heads and booths to watch him attempt the seemingly impossible. However, no one will know whether he conquered the challenge until the show airs on the Travel Channel on October 21st at 10 PM.
